Lewisham is one of the most recent boroughs we’re focusing on and holds personal significance as our founder Harry lived here with his brother about a decade ago. At My/Architect, we draw on Lewisham’s rich history to inform our sensitive approach to designing home extensions, renovations, and loft conversions.

Lewisham’s growth, marked by urbanisation, improved transport, WWII bomb damage, and post-war reconstruction, shapes our work. The borough, formed in 1965 by merging Deptford and Lewisham, grew significantly between 1800-1940 with notable settlements like Deptford. Suburbs like Sydenham and Blackheath inspire our designs. Railway development and speculative building from 1838 boosted growth.

WWII bombing and post-war reconstruction led to modernist estates like Passfields and Lammas Green. Later projects, such as Walter’s Way, continue to influence our contemporary designs.

Lewisham, one of the most recent boroughs we’ve started focusing on, has quickly become a significant area for us.

Here, we’ve been perfecting our craft, delivering projects throughout the rest of London, converting lofts and extending kitchens in areas like Brockley and Hither Green, as well as refurbishing flats across the picturesque settings of Blackheath and Sydenham. Each project presents its own unique set of challenges, but through repetition and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, we’ve streamlined our services to provide a comprehensive end-to-end experience for all homeowners.
